How DofE runs at KTS

DofE is the leading youth achievement award and helps young people stand out of the crowd when applying for jobs, apprenticeships and further education. Employers value the Award highly as it develops interpersonal and team work skills.

Knights Templar School has a long history of DofE with students taking part in the Award for over 30 years. Approximately 200 students are taking part in the Award at any time and we have an excellent completion rate.  We are proud to be a Directly Licensed Centre for DofE, working closely with the South East Regional Team.

The Award is run in school by Sarah Hammond Ward, a former student and DofE Gold Award holder.   She is supported by a number of staff, a large team of expedition volunteers and a separate group of volunteers who mentor students with their eDofE accounts.  All volunteers are DBS checked.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Mrs Hammond-Ward at the school (shammondward@ktemplar.herts.sch.uk).

Any students taking part in the Award are welcome to attend the DofE Drop-In sessions on Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes in K14.  This is the best place to get any questions answered or advice about any section of the Award.
