GCSE Results 2018

Despite the rainy start to this morning, Year 11 students at The Knights Templar School arrived early to collect their GCSE results and should be delighted with their success. Given that the vast majority of exams taken in this year’s Summer series were for the new and more demanding GCSEs many students have exceeded our expectations in their final results. It is clear that teachers and students have adapted fast to all the challenges of new courses.

37 students (18%) achieved 5 or more of the top 7+ or A+ grades and 58 students (29%) achieved 3 or more of the top 7+ or A+ grades

Headteacher Tim Litchfield said:

“My warmest congratulations extend to all of our students whose dedication and commitment to their studies has been rewarded. I am sure all students and parents will join with me in thanking our exceptional staff for their continued dedication to ensuring each student has the help, support and instruction needed to help them do as well as they possibly can.

With all the uncertainty regarding the new grading system and new syllabus content for most of courses, I am so proud of the achievements all our students. They are a credit to themselves and their parents and are a testament to the remarkable teaching and pastoral support we provide here at Knights Templar”

Lucy Ward, Head of Year 11, said:

‘It was a delight to share this morning with my year 11’s as they squealed with delight or cried with relief. I am so proud of each and everyone of them who have navigated their way through the unknown of the GCSE course and come out the other side triumphant. My year group have shown grit and determination when the pressure was on and throughly deserve to celebrate today. I want to wish them all the best as they move on to the next step of their journey and hope their results today open the doors to their futures.’
