Ofsted Report September 2017

I am delighted to be able to share with you our Ofsted report (click here). You will recall that the school was visited by two Ofsted inspectors on Wednesday 13th September. The two inspectors spent the day visiting lessons, speaking to senior and middle leaders, speaking to our students and looking at our school data. The objective of the inspection was to check that we are still a good school (as designated in the previous inspection in October 2012). The Ofsted inspection framework has changed a number of times since 2012 with the intention of raising standards.

The report is an incredibly positive one and gives us some strong indicators about how we will achieve an Outstanding grading over the next couple of years. Thank you to all parents who responded to the Ofsted survey – your time and positive comments are greatly appreciated. One paragraph in the report reads:

“You have high aspirations for pupils, which permeate throughout the school and which have a positive impact on the progress pupils make from their different starting points. Examination results at key stage 4 and key stage 5 are consistently good, and you routinely monitor outcomes to identify areas for further improvement”

The Ofsted inspector fed back to the senior leadership team and governors that it is the kind of school you would want your own child to attend and a senior Department of Education visitor commented that the inspection report read like one from an outstanding school.  I am very proud of our achievements and as always the students were a real credit to you and to the school.
